Hi Nikesh,
What I found useful was to create a detailed migration plan based on the regression testing done on 5.5
I am going through a migration now and what I did was:
1) Migrated 5.0 to 5.5 without any changes done to my config
2) Test 5.5 and
document all issues / problems and resolutions
3) Execute
multiple rehearsals to be familiar with migration issues / problems
4) Develop a
migration plan based on the issues and resolutions
This has helped my team to be fairly prepared (it is impossible to be fully prepared
) for the migration.
