Re: Accessorial Code and Accessorial Cost

Hi Kishore,

An accessorial can be on a Rate record or Rate offering.
An accessorial can be "Apply always". If apply always is on, it doesn't make any sense to put it on your location or order, because it will be always applied.
If however Apply Always is off, OTM will look whether the accessorial code is on the order or location during planning and will apply the accessorial code if it is applicable.

Example: A location needs to be delivered by a vehicle using a loading platform. The order comes in without that requirement. 2 rate offerings are in for 2 carriers. 1 carrier adds money for using the loading platform, the other doesn;t do that.

During planning the rate found by OTM is for carrier 1 the normal rate plus a rate for using the loading platform. For the other carrier it is only the transport rate. This can only be achieved by using the accessorial code at the location.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,

Bob
