Thanks bmj_23! We like the options you've suggested, although we're not familiar with 5.5 but will look into the consolidated functionality. Of course we would appreciate anyone who's used this feature to share your experience with us.

On the same line of logic as your option 1, we're thinking of using the shipment departure time as the gauge for e.g. run the sercure resource process 6-7hours before shipment departure time as a replacement for service provider's cut off time since we don't where to store that piece of information.
