Pankaj,
OTM differs from EBS in that there is no official cloning process.
OTM is tied to specific URLs, FQDNs and IP addresses, so copying an
install is not supported, nor recommended. We're in the process of
developing a cloning tool (I created the OTM installer), but limiting
the scope initially to WebLogic environments.
In the meantime, to setup a new environment, you'll need to:
- Install OTM from scratch on the new server(s)
- Patch it to the same level (CUs, RUs and appropriate Quick Patches)
- Ensure you replicate over any custom properties from the
glog.properties file
- Copy your DB as noted below.
From the database side, you can perform a full DB export and then
import using the same process documented in the OTM Admin Guide.
Since this is where all of the important data is held, this is the
most crucial part of the process.
As far as date replication / promotion between environments, there
are some new tools in OTM v5.5 that you'll want to look into, but
they're too new to give a verdict.
