Notification to a contact on the location

Hi

The scenario we are exploring is that there are 10 warehouse locations. Each location has a specific contact assigned to it. Once a shipment is created with that location a notification needs to be sent to that contact of that location.

When we configure the automation agent - when we use the action - notify contact - we need to specify the contact ID. However I cannot specific a single contact in the agent since each of the warehouse location has its own contact.

Is there any way of setting an agent or some business object that will identify the contact which has been set on the location automatically and send a notification.
OTM should be able to pick the contact from the location and identify the contact to which the notification should be sent.

Thanks

Divya

Re: Notification to a contact on the location

Hi Divya,

You could use a variable (assigned from a saved query) to dynamically retrieve the contactGID from shipment location) in the agent and input the varaible in the contact field in the Notify-Contact action.

Thanks,
Raj

Hi,

I would use ADA rules to add the correct contact based on business rules to each order based on source, dest, region...etc...The correct IP then gets copied from order to shipment, then your notification can go to the IP qualifier and the contact will effectively be variable as assigned by Auto Assigment rule.
