When entering a shipment event manually, the ability exists to update specific ship unit information (physical characteristics). Events can also be captured through an EDI 214 message and my question is if ship unit information is also included in this message, how do you solve the problem of determining which ship unit (assuming there is more than 1) to apply the updated information to on the shipment? Any help is much appreciated.

You need to supply the ShipUnitGid or you can use an Integration Saved Query within the ShipmentStatus XML interface. The XPath is ShipmentStatus/SStatusShipUnit/ShipUnitGid/Gid or ShipmentStatus/SStatusShipUnit/IntSavedQuery

Thanks For your reply, I am already doing using IntgSavedQuery for this, I want to know how do we determine that the updated details like, Weight, Volume, Shipunit Count is for Which Ship unit, Assuming there are more than one Ship units on the Shipment stop and The Carrier has no clue about the Ship-unit_Gid in OTM.

Rajas,

If the Carrier is unable to provide any data in the 214 that identifies the Ship Unit then it will not be possible to update the correct Ship Unit in OTM. Typically, Carriers will only supply the delivered total pieces and weight at the Stop level.
