Can OTM be used for modelling NVOCC operations

Dear All,

Can OTM be used for modelling NVOCC (3rd party Vessel Management) operations. If yes, can you please elaborate the process of set-ups to be done in the instance.

Regards,
Satya

Re: Can OTM be used for modelling NVOCC operations

Hi Satya
OTM's Freight Forwarding tool was originally built out to manage the Freight of a NVOCC. To properly leverage this functionality you will need to build out your Ocean Rates for both buy and sell. The sell shipment will represent the customer rate and buy will be the NVOCC rate. A overview of the functionality to be used is below
Sell Side Rating - Note you can assign a related buy side rate to the sell rate to ensure your NVO rates are in sync
Sell Carrier
Sell Rate Offering
Sell Rate Record

NVOCC
Buy Side Carrier (Make sure you check the checkbox for NVOCC)
Buy Side Rate Offering
Buy Rate Record

Also you will need use Jobs to take advantage of the ability from the sell side shipment to run the action Book with internal NVOCC. Depending on how you setup OTM you can have a seperate domain for your NVOCC and customer information. You can then at the time of Buy side shipment create create a job in the NVO Domain.

I hope this helps with your discovery.
Best Regards
Sam
