As per you message you mentioned, Quote can be used for both buy / sell, if the Quote is for Buy to a service provider, it is nothing but buying from a Carrier right.....but in OTM help it is written that Quote is basically keeping customer in view for a freight forwarder.

Rep Power: 3 | | | Re: Quote Management I believe the quote functionality was added in OTM to allow freight forwarders to provide a quote to their customers. The buy side rates determine what the freight forwarder will have to pay (either internal or external costs) to move the freight, the sell side rate is what they will charge their customers (and can be customer specific or generic sell rates). |

Regards,
Satya | Hi bmj,
When the Quote is requested by a customer and the quote is viewed by the Service provider for entering the rates manually as there is no Rate record existing on this customer, the Service provider enter the rates. If this quote is acceptable by the customer he agrees the rates and the Quote gets approved. Now, can we convert the quote to order with the above scenario as there is no rate record selected in the quote , it is only the manual rates entered by the service provider and the quote is accepted by the customer.
Please throw some light on this.
Regards,
Satya |

Rep Power: 3 | | | Re: Quote Management You can do a number of things including:
1. Converting the quote in to an order
2. In the case of a manual quote (where no rate exists in OTM), creating a spot rate based on the manual quote. I believe this was introduced in 5.5. so depends on what version you are running | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
