Packaged Item and Commodity code

Hi.
When we create a ship unit order we are using Commodity Code field to describe what products we are going to load, but when the order gets saved the line order data section populates the PACKAGED ITEM with the public value of DEFAULT.

I want the PACKAGED ITEM to automatically match the same as the commodity code and not use DEFAULT as a packaged item.

I loaded the ITEM, PACKAGED ITEM AND COMMODITY as the same ID and tied the commodity code to the item.

We need this because the GL code look up key is to Packaged item.

Re: Packaged Item and Commodity code

Packaged Items are not usually equivalent to Commodity Codes. You could have many packaged items per one Commodity Code. Why are you not entering the Packaged Item?

Re: Packaged Item and Commodity code

Hi. The reason we were trying not to enter the packed item is because the client finds it redundant and would like to enter only once the commod/item. for them the commod code is the same as the packaged item. For now we are forcing them to enter the packaged item in order to pull in the G/L code assocaited to the packaged item.

as note the item gid has a flag that we set to default packaging but it does not evidently link to the commodity code gid.
