If you want to see M TON, you have to set your preferences accordingly.
LB is OTM's default

Re: Release in M TON / Shipment in Pounds

There are three ways to control how UOM is displayed in OTM:
1) designated UOM in User Preference
2) "Display UOM As Entered" (User Preference / Manager Layout)
3) IS_DISPLAY_DEFAULT in UOM table (for global setting)

All have disadvantages that you need to be aware of.
1&3) due to OTM displays 2 digits decimal by default, for your case, if you receive an Order with 1 KG, 0.00 M TON will be displayed. If "Finished" button is clicked, then 0 M TON will be saved to database!
2) Users must always look at value+UOM in whole to prevent confusion.
