Building shipments with drop yards Does anyone use pup trucks as part of the fleet and using the equipment as part of routing shipments. I'm trying to find out how are you're using drop yard locations and building these locations with your shipments. For example: At this time a shipment are being planned as shown below PICK UP = 9580 - MOREHEAD KY DELIVERY = FDS_03032 - LEXINGTON KY 40505 DELIVERY = FDS_03623 - LEXINGTON KY 40504 DELIVERY = FDS_07124 - OWENTON KY 40359 What we would like to do for this shipment is PICK UP = 9580 - MOREHEAD KY Go to the drop yard leave part of the equipment behind at location LEXINGTON_KY_DROP - LEXINGTON KY 40509 DELIVERY = FDS_03032 - LEXINGTON KY 40505 Come back to drop yard to drop off the empty pup container to get the container that was left at location LEXINGTON_KY_DROP - LEXINGTON KY 40509 DELIVERY = FDS_03623 - LEXINGTON KY 40504 DELIVERY = FDS_07124 - OWENTON KY 40359 Come back to drop yard with empty pup container to get the container that was left at location LEXINGTON_KY_DROP - LEXINGTON KY 40509 - I know that we can manually build the shipment as such but would like to see if someone else is doing something different?
- What activity are you placing on the drop yard stops (P, D, or O)?
- Are you sending shipments like this using EDI’s 204?
Thanks!!!! N'Gai |
