Bulk Planning not consolidating orders out of cross dock

I'm trying to bulk plan 28 orders with 2 unique suppliers. I have 16 orders for supplier #1 with 8 to be picked up on Monday and 8 on Tuesday. I have 12 orders for supplier #2 with 6 to be picked up on Monday & 6 on Tuesday. I have 2 itineraries. #1 has ground schedules with static routes for these two suppliers that are round trips/milk runs. #2 does not have ground schedules and was created to handle LTL shipments with SMC as our 3rd party LTL rating software. When I plan these 28 orders at the same time, I get 2 shipments into our cross dock that were planned with the itineary #1 and these 2 shipments contain both suppliers with approx 20,000 kg's. Exactly what I'm expecrting. I also get 2 LTL shipments that were built using #2 itinerary, again exactly what I'm expecting. The problem is for the 2nd leg of itinerary #1 & #2. When the shipments are built from the cross dock to final destination, OTM does not consolidate the supplier #1 with supplier #2 and ends up creating 4 shipments from the cross dock to final destination. 2 shipments contain supplier #1 on Monday & Tuesday and 2 shipments contain supplier #2 on Monday & Tuesday. We have tried many modifications to parameters/itineraries, etc.. with no luck. We believe the itineraries are setup correctly becauase when you only plan 14 orders with Monday pickup dates, OTM creates a consolidate shipment from cross dock to final destination as expected. Any help would be greatly appreciate....I can also provide xls spreadsheets to give you samples of what is happening.

thanks in advance...Brian

OTM doesn't allow creating shipments accross itineraries at the moment. If you want this, you need to raise an Enhancement Request through the appropriate channels.

Re: Bulk Planning not consolidating orders out of cross dock

I'm not expecting OTM to create shipments across itineraries but rather create 2 shipments out of the xdock that are on the same itinerary as the 2 shipments into the xdock.

into xdock
shipment #1, itinerary #1 => ~20,000 kg 2 suppliers orders
shipment #2, itinerary #1 => ~20,000 kg 2 suppliers orders

out of xdock
shipment #3, itinerary #1 => ~15,000 kg only 1 suppliers orders
shipment #4, itinerary #1 => ~ 5,000 kg only 1 suppliers orders
shipment #5, itinerary #1 => ~12,000 kg only 1 suppliers orders
shipment #6, itinerary #1 => ~ 8,000 kg only 1 suppliers orders

I'm ok with itineary #2 creating seperate shipments out of the xdock for the LTL/TL shipments. Of course I would really prefer to have only a single itineary so all of these orders would have a chance to be consolidated out of the xdock.

any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated.....thanks in advance...Brian

Hi,

i am expecting you are using single leg itinerary or? If so i would setup a test with your orders but starting from xdock. otm should create a multistop shipment as you expect.

How is your outbound rate record look like?

Jens
