Carrier Connect

We are looking to connect to SMC Carrier Connect with OTM. Does anyone have any insight on how to accomplish this?

If it is SMC Czarlite then,

Create a Base Rate offering as LTL-SMC . At the attributes tab of Rate Manager enter External Rating Engine ID as “SMC”. Further, enter the Tariff effective Date and Tariff Name for the rate offering (as per SMC specificiations).

Now create LTL-MASTER and link to base rate offerring.

Set glog.properties file. i.e. “RatingEngine.Rateware.URL” and “RatingEngine.Rateware.Port” as per SMC server settings

Thanks, we understand the CZARLITE functionality. We are looking for the CARRIER CONNECT portion of SMC, this is a module that will determine carrier service times for us.

Hi Chris,

As per OTM help, CarrierConnect can be integrated with OTM, but it will be used only to differentiate the discounts on a lane depending on whether the source and destination locations on the shipment are serviced directly or indirectly.

For CarrierConnect, in addition to setting up SMC rates (as stated before), the following property must be set to True: glog.RatingEngine.rateware.NewAPI. The default is false.
Additionally, the service provider must have a valid SCAC code.

I think there is no out of box mechanism in OTM to use CarrierConnect to determine service time. Some kind of custom integration will be required to do so.

Hi Chris,
As per OTM help, Carrier connect can only be used to determine lane level discounts in OTM. Calculation of service time would not be possible ( atleast as out of box solution - might require custom integration)
