Divisions / Different Sites of the same Organization

One of the company is looking forward to enable a global logistics process using OTM across its world sites ( China, Australia, Netherlands and multiple US sites).

Each of these US site might procure goods from the same supplier in China so while planning all purchase orders (from all sites) should be clubbed together and planned for freight movement - combined the freight should be brought together to a port / airport and broken into multiple shipments (de consolidated) and sent to each of the respective site.

How do we go about defining the different divisions/country sites within OTM.

For holistic planning - we need to have a single domain ? or how can we define this Org structure in OTM.

What is the purpose of a sub domain - is it applicable to Freight forwarders.

I know through VPD one can manage/restrict access of data related to a location for the users based out of that location so that data for other sites won't be available for view/update to them.

How can we configure this - Have a single domain ? or multiple sub - domains then how do we do holistic planning ?

thx and rgds,
Pankaj
