Rep Power: 0 | | | How to ignore equipment constraint during planning? Hi,
I would like the system to ignore constraints on equipment - basically, avoiding the container optimisation logic to execute. How do we do that?
In Container Opt Configuration, system allows you to select between Volume and Weight metric, but it does not allow you to uncheck both of them. What I want to achieve is that system will allow me to still plan successfully even if my order's weight and volume exceeds the capacity of the equipment group that I'm using.
Is there a way in OTM to achieve this?
By default, OTM uses DEFAULT container opt config with both Weight and Volume metric being considered.
Thanks and Best Regards,
Michael |

This way OTM creates shipment without equipment | Thanks LourensGlog for the quick reply. Will definitely try this one. Just a quick question. Under this scenario of shipment without equipment, will it still be possible to add equipment to the shipment on the later stage? For example: Initially when the user plans the order, equipment type is not yet known so the assignment without equipment (your recommendation) will work for this. However, before the user do secure resources, he will indicate the actual equipment group booked with service provider by creating an equipment in the shipment. This is to recompute the rates because rating is to be based on equipment group. Do you think this is possible? |

Thanks,
Vinoth. | We are looking this option because we want to let the planner plan manually due to the orders do not have reliable data (weight/volume not accurate) for system to based on during container optimisation. Therefore, we want the system to just allow any assignments that the planner will decide even if the order's given weight/volume will exceed the capacity of the biggest truck. |

Rep Power: 3 | | | Re: How to ignore equipment constraint during planning? Once you planned a shipment with an itinerary without equipment, you cannot assign an equipment later.
There are different ways to have OTM not consider equipment size, for example by creating an equipment with the size of a football stadium

Rep Power: 0 | | | Re: How to ignore equipment constraint during planning? I agree with the above, You can't assign the equipment at later stage. Manual shipment will work for some occasion's but don't consider this is an recommendation because of the cumbersomeness.
Thanks

The reason why I am more interested on "Equipment Assignment Type = No Equipment" is becuase I can't use Manual. I observed that Manual does not work with multistop itineraries and if you try to plan manually 2 orders that are supposed to be consolidated together to form a multistop shipment, the system will not allow it. Whereas for Bulk Plan, I can do this consolidated orders in a multistop shipment. However, the "Equipment Assignment Type = No Equipment" doesn't seem to work in multistop scenario. Even if I have already indicated "Equipment Assignment Type = No Equipment" in the multistop itinerary, the system will still try to perform equipment optimisation and the resulting shipment will still have equipment group in it no matter what. Has anyone of you achieved a multistop shipment scenario without equipment group (null) as a result of planning? If yes, how did you manage to produce it? | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
