Itineary Plan for Domestic/International shipments

Hi Experts,

I just want to know 'what is the best itinerary strategy" for the below transportation structure :

1. Deals with domestic shipments in US ( TL, LTL, Air)
2. Deals with domestic European shipments in thru TL & LTL
3. Deals with international shipments (Ocean & Air)
A. from suppliers to customers - with a Logistics network of origin sea port/Destination sea port (sea)
B. from suppliers to customers - with a Logistics network of origin air port/Destination air port (Air)
* note : All international shipments will have minumum three legs (Pre-carriag, Main, Delivery leg)

Let me also say that carriers have rates
from city_city, zip_zip, city_port (US)
from city_city, zip_zip, city_port (Europe)
Air/Sea Port _to_ Air/Sea Port (International rates)
city,country_to_city,country (International rates)
My view points are :
1. can we use location profiles in Itinerary Legs from source location to nearest airport/sea port?
2. Can we have Location radius being used with Location profile (for all the surrouding airports/sea ports of supplier)

regards
Ashok

Re: Itineary Plan for Domestic/International shipments

If you have separate rates for haulage (origin/destination) and ocean/air, then your suggestion to use a three leg itinerary with location profiles and radius should work.
If your main (ocean/air) carrier can also also include the origin and/or destination haulage in its rates, then you could use Arbitrary Rates.

Don't forget to test, test and test.
