minimum fill rate of vehicles

Hi,

Just wondering if someone can give me advice on the following issue:

At the moment we have some service providers that only can be used once they have a minimum weight on the shipment. At this moment OTM is using these service providers for smaller shipments as well (for instance a this service provider gets 3,000 kg shipments). We would like it to just use these service providers for shipments of 16,000 kg or more (1 order above 16,000 kg or combining orders that add up to 16,000 kg). Is there a way that this can be set up in OTM for these service providers?

(If this shouldn't be clear just let me know and I'll try to explain my question more clearly)

Regards

Re: minimum fill rate of vehicles

You can try using the following constraints on the rate offering for that service provider

Weight Minimum: 16,000

Re: minimum fill rate of vehicles

Thanks for your quick reply.

We have tried setting the weight minimum constraint on the rate offering but OTM would only build single order loads above 16,000 kg. When we took out the constraint we could find a few more vehicles above 16,000 kg and a few of these contained multiple orders. My guess was that OTM was restricting on order level instead of shipment level. But that is just a guess.

Re: minimum fill rate of vehicles

OTM will bundle orders based on certain conditions like source - destinations combinations, compatibility checks and then pass those order bundles for rating process. So the the weight limit on the rate offering most likely applied to the shipment rather than individual orders.

Assuming your scenario as assigning shipments to carriers based on shipment weight viz. shipments above 16T go to carrier X and below 16T go to carrier Y, then you have to put a min weight limit for carrier X rate offeirng and 16T as maximum weight on carrier Y's rate offering. Rate offerings w/o any weight limit would be considered valid for any weight.
