Multi-leg with air shipment and deconsol pool

Hi All,

I work on CU4 5.5 version of OTM.
I've been working on the below scenario which fails to plan shipments, giving the error: "Itninerary failed to plan shipment"

1st leg: Air shipment from Airport A to airport B
2nd leg: Truck load from airport B to deconsolidation pool
3rd leg: TL from deconsolidation pool to destinations 1 and 2 respectively.

I defined air schedule and created consol.
Itinerary is multi-leg with 3 legs as above and "use consol" checkbox maked and "multi-stop" check box unmarked.

Kindly help resolve this problem.
Sri

Re: Multi-leg with air shipment and deconsol pool

When you run an RIQ on the individual legs:

1. Airport A to Airport B
2. TL from Airport B to Deconsolidation Point
3. TL from Deconsolidation Point to Final Destination

Do you get results for each?

Also, it sounds like leg 3 is a multistop. Maybe you should check the multistop checkbox on the Itinerary.

Re: Multi-leg with air shipment and deconsol pool

hi Sri,

In the Itinerary when you are configuring in the legs for the second leg you need to configure that the second leg is going to Deconsolidation pool by selcting Deconsolidation pool from the drop down (available in the leg) and also mentioning the deconsolidation pool id in the location field box.

check if this has been met. I hope you have configured a multi modal transport mode and mentioned the same in the Itinerary Leg.

Let me know if this was helpful.

Re: Multi-leg with air shipment and deconsol pool

Hi All,

Thanks for your responses.

I did configure the destination locations as the deconsol pool in the second leg of the itinerary and mentioned the location ID of the pool too.

Also, i created multimodal transport mode (with mode option 'multi') and used this in all 3 legs of the itinerary.

The shipment still fails to plan and gave warning "No feasible shipments created for Itinerary" and "Itinerary is a multileg itinerary with a consol leg, can not build shipment for order releases".

Please advice.

About joe's suggestion of marking multi-stop checkbox, it may not work and it is not possible to build multi-leg itineraries in OTM with that checkbox on.

Best regards,

Re: Multi-leg with air shipment and deconsol pool

hi,

Can you let me know what type of Rate Service you are using Simulation or Day Duration with lane to lane time calculation.

Because I feel that some way the application is not able to find distances or time between some locations and may not be able to create shipments as per expectations.

Please let me know your type of rate service and other details if possible.

Re: Multi-leg with air shipment and deconsol pool

Hi Ravi,

I have defined two rate services; for the air leg, the type is airschedule while for the TL leg, its simulation.

I have defined an air schedule with daily flights between airport A and B and created a consol.

I suspect, that consol shipments may not be used in multi-leg scenario. Kindly let me know if its true.
I tried a similar scenario but used a consolidation pool before air leg instead of deconsolidation pool after the air leg.
It worked fine when i unchecked the "use consol" checkbox in itinerary.

This scenario is unable to build shipment for some reason
