Joe,

Your solution works until you try to add another order release to the shipment. OTM redrives the shipment and resequences the stops on you.

Checking fixed pickup and departure times on the locations, or trying some other solutions does not change the behavior.

I feel multistop can't be used for scenarios like A-B-B-A and also for AB and BC.

Static Trips, though can be used to meet your requirement

Starting from CU4, you can enable parameter
MULTISTOP ALLOW PICKUP AND DROPOFF AT SAME STOP
within Logic Configuration - Multistop

And if you have more points required P/D, you can increase number in
Max Num of Shipment Segments of Rate Offering
and
MULTISTOP MAXIMUM SEGMENTS PER SHIPMENT in Logic Configuration - Multistop

We have tried several different configurations to get this to work but ultimatley OTM can not handle this scenario.

If you try to set up the following scenario in OTM, A(pickup)->B(pickup/delivery)->C(pickup/delivery)->A(delivery). When OTM redrives the trip it changes the route to A->A->B->C.

Let me know if you need to know about what options\configurations we tried.

Did you tried depot functionality, you can define A as depot, so you can have stop at b , and then perform P/D activity at stop B and return back to depot A.

We tried static shipments but in 5.5 you can not insert a stop, change a stop or end a trip early after creating a static trip.

Try this:
1. Create a depot profile with:
Lane: Region to region with region gaving A,B & C
Source: A
Dest:A
2. Attach the depot to the itinerary with the itinerary being a multi-stop itinerary. Itinerary is also region to region (location A,B & C)
3. In the multi-stop logic config change the following parameter:
MULTISTOP USES LIFO PICKUP DROPOFF = FALSE
MULTISTOP ALLOW PICKUP AND DROPOFF AT SAME STOP = TRUE
MULTISTOP USE UNMERGED STOPS IN SEQUENCING LOGIC = TRUE

Plan the order release. Should give you the correct o/p. The try adding more orders and check if it gives the desired result.
