Pool shipment

Hi,

We've tried to follow the OTM online help on How to Configure Cross-Docks and Pools , however, we have not been able to create any pool shipment. We're wondering if we have the right logic behind out setups especially on the following areas:

We believe we need to have 3 Rate Offerings (3 separate rate records)
Origin->Pool(Rate Offering1-TL),
Pool handling(Rate Offering2-HANDLING)
Pool->Destination(Rate Offering3-LTL)

We're not sure if our itinerary is correct, we have a multistop(checked), USA->USA, deconsolidation pool(checked), match deconsol pool to dest(checked) and single leg defined.

Any idea? Thanks in advance!

Re: Pool shipment

Hi otmrookie,

You also need a role profile "DECONSOLIDAITON POOL" on your location.

And not to forget:
In your (de)consolidation location you need to specify a "REGION ID" which region it serves for (de)consolidation. (it sounds to me the region should contain USA in your example).
Without this it won;t work.

Best regards,

Bob

Re: Pool shipment

Thank you Bob for your help! We've got the deconsol role for the pool location selected, however we don't have USA defined in the region, what we have defined in the region is the low and high range i.e. 017-024 (MA) of the USZIP3 where the pool serves. We're wondering why you think USA should be defined in the region since the pool only serves a range of zip codes. Thanks!

Re: Pool shipment

Hi,

I wasn't sure whether you set that value. To make it very generic for demo purposes, I thought to set it quite big to USA.
If you've done that more specific, that should be fine. I try most of the time, when it doesn't work, to set everything quite open.
Did you try to switch deconsolisdation off and switch on consolidation pool?
I had to try myself also a few settings here before I got it working.

Best regards,

Bob

Re: Pool shipment

Thanks Bob! By the way, did you have to change any of the planning parameters before getting OTM to plan pool shipment? All of my planning parameter that has anything to do with pool are set to FALSE. We're just wondering if we should turn these parameters on.

Re: Pool shipment

All my parameters are set to the default as they come with OTM.

Re: Pool shipment

hi,

I am not sure if you have checked this - in the location role of the deconsolidation pool location make sure that you tick the check box which allows to building of pool shipments.
