Settin up PLanning for Pick up and delivery

Hi at all,

I want to set up a scenario with multiple Consolidation and Deconsolidation Pools. Each Pool is responsible for the pick up and delivery of a fixed geographical region. Therefore ist is neccessary to split up the planning of an Order Release:
1.) Planning of the Pick up Transport for all order Releases which go to the consolidation pools
2.) Seperate Planning in an Scheduled Transport from consolidation to deconsolidation Pool
3.) Planning of the delivery of all order releases from the Deconsolidatons pools to the consignee.

In my eyes it is neccessary to have three different planning steps for all shipments, did anyone of you already set up such an scenario within OTM?

Thanks in advance for your answers

If you are looking for a dynamic xdock/pool planning, you could use region->region multi-stop itineraries with XDock ID (Consol_Pool-> Deconsol_Pool).Your rate setup could then be from region-loc,loc-region,loc-region.You will need to use a couple of planning parmeters to prefer xdock/pool planning. You may want to refer 'HowTo/' sections on Help for further information.

Re: Settin up PLanning for Pick up and delivery

Using the Order Movement Functionality may be an option for you.

An Order Release describes the start point and end point of a journey with time constraints. Based on these, OTM will determine the itinerary that best meets the requirements. However, during bulk planning of complex itineraries OTM does not recognize all optimisation opportunities.

Another thing to keep in mind is that orders using different itineraries will never combine - regardless of whether or not one of the Itinerary Legs is the same.
For complex scenarios, it is necessary to take manual control by using Order Movements. In this model the selection of the itinerary and the generation of the movements (one Order Movement per Itinerary leg) is separate from the planning. The planner can if necessary select the itinerary (or leave this to OTM), generate the Order Movements and then at a convenient time, bulk plan related Order Movements. This allows the planning of the downstream legs as late as possible to take advantage of optimization.
