Unassign Order Release from a GS Shipment

Hi,

I have created a Ground Schedule (GS) shipment using a Static Trip and have assigned an Order Release to it. However, after assigning the Order Release, I am not able to unassign the Order Release from the shipment.

Note: I do not have any date constraints set on my Order Release and I used the action Create Buy Shipment > Manually Assign to Existing Shipment to add my Order Release to the GS shipment.

The relevant error messages shown in the Log are:
Shipment DEMO.01210 reservation closed
the above orders are on closed reservation shipment, can not unassign
Failed to unassign any given order

What is the meaning of a 'closed reservation' shipment? I tried searching for the term in OTM 55 help but not been able to find anything on the subject.

I can however, unassign order movements that have been associated with the GS shipment.

Any help / suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Cheers,
Simon.

On further investigation, it appears that the status of the GS shipment is RESERVATION_CLOSED. I've tried generating another GS shipment from the same Schedule Instance and the initial status is also set to RESERVATION_CLOSED.

Here's the explanation from OTM Help:

RESERVATION determines the open/closed status of a consol or trip instance shipment.

Does anyone know why the status of my GS shipment is set to RESERVATION_CLOSED on shipment creation?

Cheers,
Simon.

It's me again.

I think I know where the issue is. I have an agent that fires on created of a GS shipment and the agent calls Release Schedule Instance. This action rates the GS shipment and at the same time changes the status of the shipment to RESERVATION_CLOSED and REVIEWED_EXECUTE.

I've done another test by setting my automation agent to Inactive, generate a shipment from the GS and I was able to add and unassign an Order Release from the shipment. The status of the GS shipment (prior to Release Schedule Instance) are RESERVATION_OPEN and REVIEWED_NOT REVIEWED.

So, in conclusion - only invoke the Release Schedule Instance action on the shipment if and only if your order releases have been confirmed on the GS shipment.

Any comments from out there?

Cheers,
Simon.
