Angry unexpected bulk plan results in Capacity Limit

Hi Everyone,

I am working on a Scenario where we have two Carrier serving same lane.

Carrier 1 has a capacity limit of 1 for a day with Shipment Cost as $100

Carrier 2 has a no capacity limit set so can execute any volume.Carrier 2 charges for the same Lane $200.

I have two order release which require two equipments(two shipments) to execute the volume.

I was expecting that one Order release should be executed by Carrier 1, as it has lower cost and 1 fleet available. The Order Release by carrier 2 as Carrier 1 limit will be exhuasted.

When I am running a bulk plan for these orders it taking Carrier 2 for both the order and create 2 Shipments wherein Carrier 2 is more expensive. Bulk plan result in thia case is unexpected.

Please let me know is it a Problem with OTM 5.5 or i am missing some parameters.

Regards

Re: unexpected bulk plan results in Capacity Limit

From my experiences, Bulk Plan favors rates/equipments without Capacity Limit (no record for Capacity Usage)
Therefore, I will suggest you to set Carrier 2 with very large number of limit (e.g. 999)

In addition, set the following parameters to TRUE:
ALLOW DIFFERENT RATE OFFERING FOR SPLIT ORDER
TRY MULTIPLE EQUIPMENT IF CAPACITY IS IDENTICAL
RATE ALL EQUIPMENT GROUPS IN SHIPMENT BUILDING

Re: unexpected bulk plan results in Capacity Limit

Hi Joseph,

I have changed the parameters and it is working without going for Capacity limit for other carrier.

Thanks a lot for input.
