Is any one developed a generic API for getting rates from an external Rate Engine?

Dear Pals,

Does anyone developed an API for getting rates from an external rate engine? Ex: an API for getting rates from Czarlite through OTM.

I know that there is a Czarlite small package exiting API, want to know how to create a API which will call that Czarlite API and get rates from OTM.

OTM has an existing API for retrieving rates from SMC Rateware (which provides Czarlite and other tariffs). There's plenty of existing documentation on setting up a RateWare connection. There won't be any generic API for retrieving rates from other external rating systems until version 6.0.

Czarlite Small Packaging rating is for UPS & Fed-Ex Parcel service. For this there is not built in API in OTM till now.

SMC3 provides a number of different products to support rating. Czarlite is specifically for LTL rating, but they also have other modules to support small package rating for FedEx and UPS. A lot of customers use their RateWare product to host the different modules. Specifically, what technology or product are you trying to interface to?
