Audit Trail for Rates

Hi all,

I would like to enable the audit trail option for rates. But I would like to know the feasibility of using and maintaining rates in OTM.
And what could be the risk of giving access to any User for the same.

Could any one suggest on this?

Thanks for your help.

Regards,
Uma

Re: Audit Trail for Rates

This should work just fine - the auditing is extremely flexible.

Alternatively, depending on the business problem you are trying to solve, you could look at using automation agents to notify contacts when someone modifies rate details.

Consider what the client wants to do in some detail because there may be a few alternative ways of achieving the same results.

Re: Audit Trail for Rates

Hi

Thanks for your reply.
The client wants to maintain rates in OTM. For example, if the cost is modified by an user in the rate record, they want to have an audit control for the old rate and the new rate that was updated and which user has updated the rate and on which date.

Please suggest on the same.

Regards,
Uma

Re: Audit Trail for Rates

Hi Uma

When OTM Audit is used, a seperate audit trail is used to track the changes made. So against the audited rate record a list of the audit history can be queried. The changes are recorded each time the change is committed and marked with the date/time.
As you drive into the audit trail - all the changes made in the same commit will be available for review.
Where updates occur, both the before and after values are available.

I have never used audit on Rates but it certainly works well for OBs and ORs.

Gary
