Hi there,

Question - Has anyone successfully modeled a dedicated carrier in OTM? We have contracts with some carriers to take all of our short haul loads (< 150 miles) out of a particular location. The only catch is that the carrier is paid for all miles (empty and loaded). We are using continuous moves in some locations, but I believe this will create too much overhead for planners. Without using continuous moves or dummy shipments, is there a way to account for empty miles in OTM, or are most people reconciling this outside of OTM?

Any input or ideas are welcome.

Have you looked into using the Depot functionality? This way the miles from final delivery back to the Depot will be shown on the Shipment Stops Tab and be factored into the Rating Calculation.

I was unaware of the Depot functionality, but that is definitely something I will try.
