Dear All,

As an urgent requirement, we made a solution for UPS parcel rating as explained below.

1) Rating the UPS shipment with a dummy rate say $1. Along with this, Fuel Surcharge and other accessorial will get calculated.
2) Extract the planned shipment XML through an external system and send as an input to BPEL process
3) Through webservice call the Czarlite UPS small package API with required input perameters and get the desired rate
4) update the rate obtained from Czarlite on shipment XML and send back to OTM to update the existing shipment.

Could anyone confirm me whether we can do this or is there any problem in following this approach?

I'm not sure about the viability of that approach, but I've heard from Oracle that they expect integration with SMC's Small Package service in 6.0. If you're short on time, it might be easier just to set up the UPS rates using Rate Zones and Weight Break Profiles, especially if you're only using a few of their services.
