Rate Service and Rest for Truck Driver

Hi,

We have the following scenario, in which the rest hours are not being calculated properly. Due to this, the final delivery is delayed.

The scenario is as follows.

STOP 1 to STOP 2 --- S1, IL to S2, OH --- 500 miles, 10 hrs drive.
STOP 2 to STOP 3 --- S2, OH to S3, OH --- 25 miles, 30 minute drive.

The truck leaves S1 on Friday evening and reaches S2 on Saturday Afternoon. The facility at S2 is closed till Monday morning. Therefore, the truck driver rests at S2 from Saturday afternoon to Monday Early Morning.

On Monday morning at 5:00 AM the facility at S2 opens and the unloading process takes two hours. The truck should leave S2 at 7:00 AM and reach S3 by 7:30 AM.

The issue is, OTM calculates the rest period after 7:00 AM on Monday Morning. Therefore, after the delivery at S2 is done at 7:00 AM, the truck driver has to rest for 13 hours and then the delivery at S3 happens only in the evening at 8:00 PM

The system did not take into account the rest period on Sunday. Due to this issue, some of our shipments are delayed.

Hopefully, I have explained everything.

Has anyone come across this problem?

Thanks,
Prasad.

Re: Rate Service and Rest for Truck Driver

Hi,

Did you specify a calendar on the rate service? I have had problems with that in combination with the rest calculation.

No, we did not specify a calendar in the rate service. Do you think we should specify one in this case?
