rouding up distance returned by external distance engine

Hello

Currently PC miler returns the distance to us wilth decimals. Our carriers seldom use distance in calculating the tariff. they round off the distance for rate calculation. How can we achieve rounding of distance in OTM? Or is it for PC miler to round off the distance and pass the value back to OTM?

regards
Karthik

Re: rouding up distance returned by external distance engine

Hello,

Unfortunately, I don't have an answer for you on this -- however, I believe I can help to rule out one portion of it.

On the technical side, I'm not aware of any way for OTM to request that PC Miler rounds the mileage value. OTM makes a simple network connection to the PC Miler server and then passes it two zip codes, to which PC Miler replies with the decimal distance.

Unless there is a way to manipulate the value, once it is back in OTM, I'm not sure how else to accomplish it.

Hope this helps,
--Chris
