How to Use an Agent to Copy Shipment Pro Number Information to Order Movements?

We have a scenario where we have a carrier operate a dedicated LTL consolidation for us. The flow from supplier to our plants for these moves is as follows:

Leg 1 is from supplier to carrier consolidation point
Leg 2 is from carrier consolidation point to plant.

We are using order movements so this, of course, creates 2 order movements for the 2 legs.

Note that the carrier consolidation operator also handles the first leg pickup. We are asking this carrier to input the Master Pro Number on the OTM shipment for the 1st leg.

My question is if there is an easy way to set up an agent to copy this Master Pro Number to BOTH order movements and the 2nd leg shipment for this particular flow. If so, how is this done?

Thanks

Hi Stephen,

I would recommend using a Shipment Automation Agent for that. You can use the Action "Copy Reference Number" to copy the Master Pro Number to the second leg.

As for copying the Pro number from the Shipment to the Order Release, I am not aware if there is a new Action in newer OTM releases. If there isn't a similar action in your OTM version you may have to use SQL. We are in OTM 4.5 and we have to use SQL to copy reference numbers between Shipments and Order Releases.

Hope this helps,

Alejandro B.
