also what is the diff between an auto agent and a mile stone monitor....

Re: Milestone monitor

Hi,
Hope this below information is of help to you.
Milestone monitor gets attached automatically when the event of the initiating agent satisfies there is no need to use the actions menu. (note you do not create milestone monitor, we create milestone template which inturn creates a monitor once a satisfying event is triggered) and in your case a milestone monitor will get created whenever an order base is created (if that is event condition).
An auto agent is used to perform a single activity or series of activities at given happening of an event whereas milestone monitor does proactive monitoring and performs various activites upon happenings of several satisfying events.

Re: Milestone monitor

Proactive monitor means monitoring a business object after occurance of an event for a specific time and doing an action and subsequent to that action you can further monitor the business object else close the monitor.

For example if a shipment needs to be delivered within 4 hours of pickup, the milestone monitor gets activated at the time of pickup and watches for 4 hours and looks for POD and if POD is updated closes the monitor else notifies the parties and continues to monitor the shipment until POD is entered.

In this way we can accomdate various time frames between various event milestones and do pro active monitoring that is monitoring before an exception is recorded and notifying proactively before the delay is happened.

An automation agent can be activated upon a pick up milestone but fixing 4 hours as a time to look for the POD milestone requires another agent instead all these can be done using one milestone template only.

Please note that milestone template is nothing but a grouping of agents set up under various conditions.

Re: Milestone monitor

Hi,

Oracle has a very good course for that, "SCEM" (Supply Chain Event Management). That is the best to follow.

Best regards,

Bob

Re: Milestone monitor

hI,

Can any one advice on this as why we are unable to generate OR from OB using a milestone monitor

We created a milestone template to generate OR from OB, when the OB is created. Upon creation of the OB the milestone gets attached to the OB but does not perform the further action of creating the OR....

any advice ......

Re: Milestone monitor

Hi,

I don't know what your basic requirement is, but it seems to me that you only want to create order releases onces you stored the order base. Why do you want to use Milestone templates for that?
There is generic logic for doing that.

You create an order base and select a release logic (I used AUTO_CALC most of the time). In each order base line you mark the checkbox "Shippable". once you submit your order base, an order release is automatically created. (I thought a public agent is taking care of that).

Perhpas I missed something out here, but it seems to fulfill you rrequirement.

Hope it helps.

Best regards,

Bob
