Question [SOLVED] Set automatic write permissions onto fields

Shortly my problem is that i've to create permission writing rules to set some fields writeable or not triggered by a status change of an order_release or a shipment. I think i could do that by creating an agent. In that case what does should be the action that can make some status or field changeable?

Thanks a lot in advance for all of yours replies

Re: Set automatic write permissions onto fields

I cant think of any functionality in the standard OTM product that will allow you to control whether fields appear as "editable" in the UI based on certain status types and status values being set (apart from maybe some custom XSL work).

However, there is a lot of capability and functionality around action checks which you can use to enforce rules around what people can enter / have to enter in the UI. That would be something I would investigate first. It really depends, as with all these things, on the exact requirements that you have.

Others may have input on that.

Re: Set automatic write permissions onto fields

I would play with screensets and layout manager.

Create a screenset specific layout manager with the required field for read write access
and apply a default search criteria status x value z

create the second screenset with different layout manager and default search criteriy
status x value y.

It's not one of the most elegant solution but should work.
