How can I display Name in screen, but store GID in the database

I wanted to change my custom Order entry screen to display PlanningGroupName in a drop down field, but when we save this it should get saved as a PlanningGroupGID field in the table such as Order_release and OB_Order_base etc..

Does anyone have done anything like this before..?

This seems related to another of your posts regarding PlannedShipment not containing the PlanningGroupName.

Same question: why do you want the Name to be different from the GID?
