[SOLVED] Add "Temperature" Column to Order Release Results Screen

Most of our business involves temperature controlled shipments and we find that our planners are constantly having to go into each order release to check the specified temperature that our customers send us with each order. To find the temperature for the particular order release, the planner will select an order release from the results returned on the order release search they requested. Within each order release, the planner will select the Ship Unit tab and look at the Commodity Code field which has the type of temperature associated with the order. From there they can select the orders with compatible temperature profiles that can be bulk planned together.

Is there a way that the Commodity Code field from the Ship Unit tab under Order Release be put on the results screen from the Order Release search? I see that we can create custom screensets but I am not familiar with doing this.

Thanks.

Thumbs up Re: Add "Temperature" Column to Order Release Results Screen

Hi

You can bring the commodity code to result screen. For this you need use the pseudo fields. Store your commodity code as a Refnum in your order release. Using the below path, you can access screen set manager. Pls find attached herewith doc on how to configure this.

Configuration and Administration > User Configuration > Screen Set Manager

Re: Add "Temperature" Column to Order Release Results Screen

Hi, thanks for the feedback.

I want to confirm what you are saying:

1. Create an Order Release RefNum for the Commodity Code (which is actually the field FLEX_COMMODITY_CODE).

2. Use the pseudo fields in the Screen Set Manager for the Order Release Screenset to look up this RefNum.

3. Insert this new column into the Order Release Screenset using the dropdown list which should now have the RefNum in it and select the sequence number depending on where the new column should appear in the results screen.

As we have already set up our incoming transmissions to capture this commodity code from what our customers send us, we could create an agent for each new order release. The agent checks the commodity code sent to us and automatically creates a RefNum on the order with the commodity code details. Another option is to set up this logic at the integration layer on our side that sends the translated XML to OTM.

Thanks for your help with this.

Hi,

You got it right. The first option among the two given by you will work better and needs less effort to configure.

Re: Add "Temperature" Column to Order Release Results Screen

Hi,

just be aware that the described solution only works properly as long as you have only 1 ship unit, because the commodity is per ship unit/line item. That means, as soon as you have more then one, pulling the information into 1 ref doesnt work anymore if you have different commodities....

Re: Add "Temperature" Column to Order Release Results Screen

Hi Oliver, thanks for the note.

We get orders with only one commodity code per order and never with more than one commodity code as the orders are always one particular product.
