I'd like to know how to create a screenset from scratch (as opposed to copying a screenset and making changes). I need to create customized screens with text boxes etc. Is it possible to include check boxes and radio buttons as well?

You can create screensets from scratch but the effort involved is greater than just copying and editing a public screen set. Especially when it comes to configuring the Tree and the SmartLinks tabs.
As in version 4.5, the only option for search fields with checkboxes is when you select a field that has them preconfigured as it will be the case of the "Shipment As Work" field.
Alternatively, you can create a Drop Down list where you limit the possible values, how they will be displayed in the screen and their respective actual value.
