Archiving Of Data Other Than Shipment / Order Release / Order Base / Items

Hi

Has anyone implemented their own archiving script to archive business objects other than the standard ones provided in OTM?

Specifically, I would like to housekeep:

1) Invoices
2) Vouchers

Thanks!

Ian,

I haven't seen this expanded to other business objects yet. If it were, my only concern would be around patch management, since OTM patches can update both the archive scripts and the Archive schema.

Re: Archiving Of Data Other Than Shipment / Order Release / Order Base / Items

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the reply. I think I will have to ask my DBA to design some scripts that will archive these business objects to another tableowner like SCH_ARCHIVE and only provide the necessary grants from GLOGOWNER to execute.

Hopefully this will help buffer the impact of any changes to the OTM schema during patches / migration.

Ian

Lakshma,

We can purge shipments and Orders from the front end.

Navigate to,

Configuration and administration --> process management --> DataPurge

(for example)

Command : shipment
Age in days: 3 ( you can give any number of days)
Domain name: yourdomain
Email : abc@xyz.com

And check the box purge by application --> now.

If you choose schedule then you can specify the time also when you want the data to be purged.

When you choose the option purge by application, then there is a purge procedure that has come through the product that performs this function.

Hope this helps...

Regds--
Arun.

Re: Archiving Of Data Other Than Shipment / Order Release / Order Base / Items

Hi,

I have two specific questions.

1) From all that the admin guide says , the purged data should reach the archive_object table .How do we access this table.

2) While the shipments are purged , order releases do not get purged and still exist. Is there some way out to purge the OR s simultaneously..

Thanks !

Hi Medhas,

You don't purge OR's simultaneously but only after you purge the shipments. Under Configuration and administration > Process management > DataPurge you can specify Order Release and Order Bases as separate purging jobs.

You then specify the retention period and then schedule them after purging shipments.

You need to purge shipments first, then order release and the order bases.

Hope this helps!
