Whenever I install or tune an Oracle DB, I always seem to reference Werner Puschitz's website. For years, this has been the best technical reference for installing an Oracle DB server - often providing better (or at least easier to understand) information than Oracle. Give it a gander (now there's a word you don't hear often!) and I'm sure you'll find it as useful as I do.
