Hi,

As per document, OTM on redhat linux is only supported but not certified. Has anybody implemented OTM on Redhat and if yes, did you face any issue?

Do you suggest for going with RedHat Linux?

Hi Kalpit,

Yes RH 4 with the possibility of Oracle’s Unbreakable Linux, are the only supported Linux platforms at this time for OTM. You can also install the 64-bit version but only the 32-bit JVM will work with OTM. We have successfully installed OTM on our servers running CentOS 4 as the OS/updates are free and it is essentially a re-badged version of Redhat. The only minor issue we had to do was change the redhat-release to say Redhat instead of CentOS as a few applications such as Dell's openmanage rely on that when starting up. Be sure to install of the development packages when installing the OS.

Nick's hit it square on the head. In addition, Linux has become the biggest platform for OTM and currently offers the best performance.
