Rep Power: 0 | | | OBIEE Integration with OTM 5.5. CU4 Hi,
I have tried to integrate OBIEE with existing OTM 5.5 CU4 version. As per the document,we should create new system DSN under ODBC connections. My OS is RHEL 4 and manually created the DSN in odbc.ini file as follows.
[TEST]
Driver=/oraclebi/server/Bin/libnqsodbc.so
Description=Oracle BI Server
ServerMachine=10.239.5.126
UID=
PWD=
Port=9704
But if I check the client connectivity using nqcmd, the commands hangs for ever. Is the configuration is correct? |

The Note 551110.1 talks about the installation of Oracle Client 9i. But My obiee version is 10.1.3.3.1 and I have currently configured with OCI 10g client.
Is there any issues with this configuration? |

Rep Power: 3 | | | Re: OBIEE Integration with OTM 5.5. CU4 The admin guide has all kinds of errors and should be corrected in the near future. I would suggest you get in contact with Oracle support to have a check over all of your configurations. Have you installed the Oracle 9i client to interface with OBI? |

Rep Power: 0 | | | Re: OBIEE Integration with OTM 5.5. CU4 Nick,
Thanks for your reply. But I didn't install the oracle 9i client, rather installed 10gR2 client. Because as per the doc,
02 - Oracle 9i
03 - Oracle 10g R1
04 - Oracle 10g R2
05 - DB2 OS/390 V7
06 - DB2 OS/390 V8
07 - DB2 UDB V7
08 - DB2 UDB V8
Enter 02 and press enter – in 10.1.3.3 you should select 3
Since my OBIEE version is 10.1.3.3.1, I opted for 10.2.0.1 client. Can I install Oracle 9i client and check? More over, I can't find any client version for oracle 9iR2 for Linux.
Please comment. |

Rep Power: 3 | | | Re: OBIEE Integration with OTM 5.5. CU4 Which guide told you to install 10g client?
Here is from the OTM admin guide
Note: If you are installing OBI EE on a server running 64-bit Linux be sure the
LD_LIBRARY_PATH for the “oracle” user also includes the < Oracle 9i Client Home>/lib32
directory. If the path isn’t correct, the following error would be generated later in the OBI
EE installation.
I know that Oracle development has the 10g client working but you need to configure a bunch of things to get it working which have not yet been published. I would just install the 9i client for now. |

I installed the oracle9i client and the necessary configuration was done.I started the services, but found the following error while accessing the FTI from OTM.
saw.dll was not found on this server.
Also this my DSN entry in odbc.ini file.

Driver=/oraclebi/server/Bin/libnqsodbc.so
Description=Oracle BI Server
ServerMachine=10.239.5.126

Rep Power: 3 | | | Re: OBIEE Integration with OTM 5.5. CU4 Did you rerun the OBI EE]/Oracle BI\server\Bin\schconfig script again so that it uses the 9i client?
I am also assuming you have installed this on a Redhat 4 server?
As far as modifying the odbc.ini, I can tell you that I didn't have to modify it to get this working. I had to add the RPTAPP as a tnsnames.ora entry into the Oracle 9i client.

You are supposed to be using a separate version of apache and tomcat copied over from your otm install not what OBIEE ships with. |

Rep Power: 0 | | | Re: OBIEE Integration with OTM 5.5. CU4 Hi Nick,
I removed the DSN entry from my odbc.ini file and started the services. Now I'm getting the 'The page cannot be displayed' error while accessing OBIEE via OTM.
Also as per the documentation, I downloaded apache-tomcat-5.5.27.tar file for the tomcat installation. But copied the entire apache directory from otm installation and modified the files as per the doc. Is this correct?
If not, could you provide me the URL from where I can download the standalone apache? Because I checked the otn site and found weblogic is available now. My current version of httpd is 2.0.55. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
