Re: OTM Access Error, Login Error

The error says all:
Code:
INFO | jvm 1 | 2009/11/19 13:16:23 | Could not reserve enough space for object heap
How much memory does your machine have? And what's heap size of OTM App and Web?

Exclamation Re: OTM Access Error, Login Error

Hi,
I am having 500GB HDD and this is installed in a drive with 100 GB freespace
RAM is 4 GB and virtual memory is given as 20 MB
How to find the heap size and what should be the ideal heap size.

regards

Re: OTM Access Error, Login Error

Looks like you are trying to install OTM on a PC.
If your OS is not 64 bit, you will only have 3GB memory available (even you have 4 GB physically)
And if you install all components (DB, App, Web and Report) in one machine, you probably can only allocate 768 MB each for OTM App and Web.

To modify heap size, please refer to "Changing Memory Settings" section in Admin Guide.

BTW, there is no magic (ideal) number for heap size. It has to be come out through a sizing evaluation.

Lightbulb Re: OTM Access Error, Login Error

Hi,
This issue has been resolved when i changed my H/W and below settings

Infact i overlooked basic notes of System requirements
I currently use

Intel - Core Quad CPU 2.67 GHz
With 8GB RAM
250 GB HDD

Also my virtual memory is set to 4GB - 8 GB

I have Oracle DB and OTM on same meachine currently this is used only for learning / testing purpose.

Re: OTM Access Error, Login Error

Just a point for others -- the amount of memory is key. OTM is incredibly memory hungry and this only goes up with the v6.x release, due to the 64-bit JVM.
