GPS integration

Hi everyone,

I am new in OTM, but I have a little experience in Oracle technology as database and e-Business Suite.

I am searching information about how to integrate information generated by a GPS sistem installed in each truck of the fleet.

This GPS generated information must be integrated to OTM to following truck's execution.

Is it possible?

GPS system is called Omnitracs, it gerenerate a CSV file to the minute with each trucks positions and multiple mesages like, execution begin, execution end, etc.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Re: GPS integration

Jorge,

There isn't currently any built-in integration to support this. Hopefully someone else here on the site can share personal experiences and how they've tackled this internally.

I'm not able to go into many details - but I can say that this is being addressed for OTM v6.0. A lot of effort is going into integrating OTM into GPS and other mobile systems/devices.

Re: GPS integration

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your answer. Maybe I should research how to integrate GPS generated information by external means.

Chris, do you know if some OTM data dictionary document exists? I am going to try to analyze some OTM database table level information.

Thanks for your help.
Jorge

Re: GPS integration

Jorge,

Yes - you can pull the data dictionary from your OTM installation. You'll find directions here:
