Integration message processing throughput

Hi

We have been running a few performance tests after migrating data from version 4.0 to 5.5 CU4. We find that with version 4.0 we have been able to reach message processing throughput of upto 25000 messages per hour.

In our version 5.5 environment during the performance tests the maximum message processing throughput we have reached is about 10000 messages per hour. Can anyone recommend performance tuning parameters either for Oracle 10g database or for OTM that can help increase message processing throughput.

I know this largely depends on the type of integration messages etc.but please let us know maximum message processing throughput achieved with OTM 5.5,

Thanks
Abrar

Re: Integration message processing throughput

Abrar,

This is a complex topic and involves a fair amount of investigation to determine where the bottleneck lies. In OTM v5.5, the main ones usually are:
  • DB VPD and general query performance
  • App server memory utilization and garbage collection
  • Agent and Business Monitor contention
  • OTM Thread tuning
Without more information (logs, related performance symptoms, hardware utilization stats, etc), I wouldn't be able to provide a more specific recommendation.
