Rep Power: 0 | | | Euro Symbol Display in OTM Generated Pdf report Hi,
I am facing some challenges in displaying Euro currency symbol in one of the pdf reports? The report dispays the correct symbol when run directly i.e, by connecting the rdf file directly to database and running the report.
However, when hosted on Report server and run as online report, the symbol comes as inverted question mark(?) symbol
Has anybody encountered this problem before? Any thoughts? |

Rep Power: 10 | | | Re: Euro Symbol Display in OTM Generated Pdf report I've seen symbol and font issues in the past with Oracle Reports, depending on what platform your running on and whether that symbol is available to the graphics engine. This also sometimes manifests as the correct symbol in an HTML report, but incorrect in PDF.
May I ask what version of OTM / Oracle Reports you're using and what platform your running on? Also whether the issue occurs with both PDF and HTML reports?

Thanks for the reply. We are on OTM 4.5 and the Its AIX as platform.
It works fine on Order Base view (Custom View Screen) , but do not work on hosted report.
I will be very keen to hear what were the work arounds that worked as part of symbol resolution.
We are running on 6i report version |

Rep Power: 10 | | | Re: Euro Symbol Display in OTM Generated Pdf report Hello - can you verify what platform your Oracle Reports instance is running on? Due to many problems with OTM Oracle Reports on AIX, it wasn't certified for use until OTM v5.5.
Many of the clients running OTM web and app on AIX are using Windows or Linux for the OTM Oracle Reports server.

Can you verify whether this is occurring only for HTML reports or also for PDF reports? If only for PDF (which I would expect) then, it has to do with the fonts loaded and available to XServer. In older versions of Oracle Reports (those used prior to OTM v5.5), as separate XServer was necessary to generate graphics and PDF versions of the reports. This was often a Windows-based XServer, but may also be local to your Linux box. You may have to check the documentation for your XServer, in order to troubleshoot this further. Another option is to utilize a different XServer - such as using Cygwin or Exceed for Windows and pointing your Oracle Reports DISPLAY variable there.
Feel free to send more information about your configuration and I'll try to assist with the resolution.
