Re: OTM Reports getting REP-50004 Error

Do you have the reports server name correct? It should work and you'll need to get it to work in the same format that I sent you otherwise you won't be able to integrate OTM reports with Oracle Reports. Did you patch the instance with anything after you installed Oracle Reports? You need to be sure that it is version 10.1.2.0.2 and nothing else.

Re: OTM Reports getting REP-50004 Error

If I run the Show Environment command:

tmsrpt-dev01.ff.ffbs.net:7778/reports/rwservlet/showenv
It shows the correct version:

10.1.2.0.2

So I do not think any patches were applied.

Also if I do not fully qualify the name of the server, I can get your link to work:

tmsrpt-dev01.ff.ffbs.net:7778/reports/rwservlet/showjobs?server=rep_tmsrpt-dev01_FRHome1
I changed it from 'rep_tmsrpt-dev01.ff.ffbs.net_FRHome1' to 'rep_tmsrpt-dev01_FRHome1', so I guess the reports server name was not quite correct. The show jobs option shows the list of jobs. The requests from OTM are where it shows Job Name 'NoName', and the others are me manually trying reports:

Re: OTM Reports getting REP-50004 Error

Ok so you'll need to change that in your glog.properties file and then restart OTM. Then your view scheduled jobs should work. Be sure that you also copied over the templates from your /otm/glog/reports/10g to your /oracle_reports/reports/templates directory as per the admin guide.

Re: OTM Reports getting REP-50004 Error

OK. I've updated the properties and now the View Scheduled Jobs link works. The p_reports_server property needed to NOT have a fully qualified name, so i removed '.ff.ffbs.net'.

All of the reports still get the 50004 error.

I was able to capture the actual URL that OTM uses to call a report out of the logs, so this will re-produce the 50004 error:

ttp://tmsrpt-dev01.ff.ffbs.net:7778/reports/rwservlet?hide_pass_key&'report=bill_of_lading&'de stype=CACHE&'desformat=PDF&'P_FORMAT=View%20PDF&'P ARAMFORM=NO&'TOLERANCE=0&'SERVER=rep_tmsrpt-dev01_FRHome1&'P_REPORTS_SERVER=rep_tmsrpt-dev01_FRHome1&'P_R

Re: OTM Reports getting REP-50004 Error

You have installed the reports component for OTM correct? You have on your report server a /otm/glog/reports directory? Have you tried running the test report from within Oracle Reports?

Re: OTM Reports getting REP-50004 Error

Yes we have installed the Reports component of OTM. There is an OTM/glog/reports directory. We have run the test report and it works correctly at the following URL:

ttp://tmsrpt-dev01.ff.ffbs.net:7778/reports/rwservlet?destype=cache&desformat=HTML&report=test

Re: OTM Reports getting REP-50004 Error

At this point I've given you as much as I can think of without looking at your environment. I would suggest that you log a ticket with Oracle as they will need to take a look at your environment. Please also mention to them all of the troubleshooting that we have done as they will ask you to check this as well.

Re: OTM Reports getting REP-50004 Error

This issue is resolved. Here is what I had to do to get past the dreaded REP-50004 error:

On the Reports server in the rwservlet.properties file, the RELOAD_KEYMAP value was set to YES.

Also, in the cgicmd.dat file on the reports server a percent sign and asterisk were added to the end of the value for the hide_pass_key settng:
hide_pass_key: userid=user/password@sid %*

This is a wild card that allowed the rest of the parameters to be passed including the name of the report on the command line.

This is also consistent with page 3-15, step 28, in the March 2008 Admin Guide, which apparently needs to be followed exactly.

Thanks for the help getting to this point Nick. Much appreciated.

Matt Kenney
