Mass update functionality

I'm looking to get mass update functionality configured in OTM. Basically I understand that I need to make a particular column on the 'results' tab of the screen set edittable. I have a shipment results screen with most of the necessary pieces of information and I can get them all to mass update except one particular one. This one is the first_equipment_group which is on the shipment table. I made that field edittable, but the action does not appear to be updating the equipment on the shipment. I researched a little further and am trying to get the s_equipment to be an edittable field. Does anyone know how to do this? On that note, are there ways to bring in other fields on the 'tree' tab of a screen set? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Mass update functionality

Hi,

Are you sure this is an editable field? Fields can only be edited when it is not on a child table. I know this field isn;t in a child table, but it will be determined automatically based on a child table.

So I assume it is not possible.

I hope this points you in a right direction.

Best regards,

Bob

Re: Mass update functionality

Bob,

Great information! Yes, I didn't realize this was not in a child table. Do you have any suggestions or know of a way to display that equipment group on a screenset and make that equipment group field editable for mass update functionality in OTM 5.5? Thank you, again! Is it something with the tree set up? Or is that just involved with links?

Re: Mass update functionality

Hi,

Without any investigation....... You can't get it on the grid to be modified directly. At least in 5.5 CU2 it was that only header level information can be changed from the grid.

I think there not the possibility to do a mass update for these. The below 2 options you have but neither of them are enabling you to do it for multiple record at the same time:

An option would be to tree option (default already there) to go directly to the table and change it.

But my best suggestion would be to do it with the action: "Action -> Change shipment details -> Change equipment group". I think tha twould do the trick.

Best regards,

Bob
