[SOLVED] Data modeling

We are looking for a modeling solution that we can use with OTM.
Basically, we are trying to find a solution where we could take 3 to 6
months of a customer's data and show them how a system like OTM could
provide them more consolidation opportunities for their LTL freight. We
would also like to be able to run it with different pricing scenarios
reflecting LTL vs TL rates. We would also like to be able to do what-if
scenarios where we could analyze the impact of pricing changes for both
buy and sell rates.

It has been suggested that we use a TEST system and import CSV files.
This would represent between 25 to 30 files. Modifying pricing would
result in the need to import additional CSV files. We would like to see
if we can do this without having to involve a DBA skill set for days or
weeks at a time.

If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate your input.

Re: Data modeling

Hi Richard - we have used TMS modellling type applications from other software vendors to do this type of work in the past. They have allowed us to import data from Excel / Access etc and run very effective optimization models to study the effect of TL v LTL etc.

It can probably be done in OTM, but as you have highlighted, it will take a lot of effort and data loading / manipulation via CSV files.

Send me a PM if you want more details.
