[SOLVED] RE: Clarification on the '07 DST changes to the Property Files for v4.5 and

Our settings agree with your list, with the exception of the Indianapolis
entry. I believe they are on EST. I found this map on the Indiana gov
webpage http://www.in.gov/sic/pdfs/TimeZones.pdf

We have our entry as noted below:
glog.timezone.America/Indiana/Indianapolis=-5,MARCH,2,SUNDAY,2,NOVEMBER,1,SU
NDAY,2,1

Subject: RE: Clarification on the '07 DST changes to the Property Files fo r
v4.5 and below

We've been working w/ OTM Support and would like to add the following
relative to OTM v4.5 and below:

- The database must be upgraded to 9.2.0.8. and there are no changes to OAS
or Reports server. The official word from OTM Support management is that no
testing was done by Oracle on the db upgrade so we're on our own to validate
functionality.

- Metalink note: 396225.1 provides instructions / samples on how to manually
update the timezone data in the glog.timezone.properties file. The samples
are incorrect for timezones other the EST. OTM support stated "Please note
entries to Time Zones in EST time should be the same, but the TZ's for
central, mountain and PST have different GMT offsets". The following is a
sample of the timezone entries we're implementing w/ different GMT offsets
as noted by "=-##" :

glog.timezone.America/Adak=-10,MARCH,2,SUNDAY,2,NOVEMBER,1,SUNDAY,2,1
glog.timezone.America/Anchorage=-10,MARCH,2,SUNDAY,2,NOVEMBER,1,SUNDAY,2,1
glog.timezone.America/Boise=-7,MARCH,2,SUNDAY,2,NOVEMBER,1,SUNDAY,2,1
glog.timezone.America/Chicago=-6,MARCH,2,SUNDAY,2,NOVEMBER,1,SUNDAY,2,1
glog.timezone.America/Cayman=-4,MARCH,2,SUNDAY,2,NOVEMBER,1,SUNDAY,2,1
glog.timezone.America/Denver=-7,MARCH,2,SUNDAY,2,NOVEMBER,1,SUNDAY,2,1
glog.timezone.America/Detroit=-5,MARCH,2,SUNDAY,2,NOVEMBER,1,SUNDAY,2,1
glog.timezone.America/Edmonton=-7,MARCH,2,SUNDAY,2,NOVEMBER,1,SUNDAY,2,1
glog.timezone.America/Halifax=-4,MARCH,2,SUNDAY,2,NOVEMBER,1,SUNDAY,2,1
glog.timezone.America/Indiana/Indianapolis=-6,MARCH,2,SUNDAY,2,NOVEMBER,1,SU
NDAY,2,1
glog.timezone.America/Indianapolis=-6,MARCH,2,SUNDAY,2,NOVEMBER,1,SUNDAY,2,1
glog.timezone.America/Los_Angeles=-8,MARCH,2,SUNDAY,2,NOVEMBER,1,SUNDAY,2,1
glog.timezone.America/Menominee=-6,MARCH,2,SUNDAY,2,NOVEMBER,1,SUNDAY,2,1
glog.timezone.America/Montserrat=-4,MARCH,2,SUNDAY,2,NOVEMBER,1,SUNDAY,2,1
glog.timezone.America/Montreal=-5,MARCH,2,SUNDAY,2,NOVEMBER,1,SUNDAY,2,1
glog.timezone.America/New_York=-5,MARCH,2,SUNDAY,2,NOVEMBER,1,SUNDAY,2,1

- Also worth noting; we were not told to re-change these entries in the
fall. We assume that the syntax of the timezone entries accommodates that.

Regards,
Nick Snyder

All,

In addition, this affects anyone running OTM v5.5, prior to CU2. So, to
clarify the following versions are affected and will require manual steps to
prepare for the upcoming DST change:

- OTM v4.0 (all SRs)
- OTM v4.5 (all SRs)
- OTM v5.0 (SRs prior to Oct 2006)
- OTM v5.5 (SRs prior to CU2)

Also, here's a direct link to Michelle's post - definitely worth reading:

Thanks,
Chris

All -
This also applies to anyone that is on 5.0 with a SR less than Oct
06. Keep in mind that the glog.timezone.properties changes need to be in
place prior to 3/11 if you are dependent on the system for timed based
transactions.

FYI - if any of you with OTM/GC3 version 4.5 or below have had
questions regarding the required changes to the OTM glog.timezone.properties
file for Oracle's DST '07 Patch....I received some clarification on this
subject from Oracle and have posted the questions and answers on the OTM faq
Forum site (http://www.otmfaq.com/forums <http://www.otmfaq.com/forums> )
under the 'Patches' thread.

Thanks.
