[SOLVED] Re: v5.5 CU2 Issues after de-installing Oracle Spatial

BTW, I created a forum topic on this issue a bit back.  Please feel free to update it with any new information you come across in your testing.

Re: v5.5 CU2 Issues after de-installing Oracle SpatialJada,

If you found the problem and then removed spatial you still need to go back and create the correct public synonym for the OTM DISTANCE table to get it working again. Running @create_public_synonyms.sql as GLOGOWNER or just doing a one-off create statement should do the trick.

Good Luck,
Alan

Guys - this is great, we have just identified a resulting distance issue and haven't yet tried this.

Thanks so much for your help!

Jada

Actually the fix was to rename the DISTANCE table to be DISTANCE_LOOKUP.

Just an FYI, I investigated the Oracle Spatial issue for a client and the only problem I found that caused a conflict with OTM 5.5 was the public synonym called DISTANCE which conflicts with a synonym of the same name used by OTM. So it may not be necessary to de-install all of spatial only to remove the conflicting synonym. I imagine that the fix in CU2 was to rename the synonym in OTM to something else.

Jada,

We are nearing the end of our v5.5 implementation and we didn't experience any issues after applying CU2 in OTM.  Of course we've experienced other issues throughout our implementation with regard to the Oracle EBS interface but none as a result of applying CU2 - or at least none that we've run into yet with the functionality that we're using.

Subject: v5.5 CU2 Issues after de-installing Oracle Spatial

Hi All
We are working on a v5.5 implementation and have worked through the Oracle Spatial issues. &nbspe-installing recommendation on Metalink help worked well for us.

As we look ahead to apply CU2, we were wondering if anyone else has had any issues with CU2 after working through the Oracle Spatial issues.

We would like to be proactive or at a minimum get a "heads up" and avoid any additional delays to our implementation.

Regards,
