[SOLVED] Multi Org Concept in OTM while integrating with EBS OM 12.04

Hi All,

I am currently in process of integrating OTM with OM and Oracle WMS and have a quick question on the issue,Does OTM support Multi-Org functionality as it is defined in EBS, If yes is there any high level white papers available for reference Or does anybody have any insights to achieve the same. I have some questions

We have one EBS instance with multiple orgs and one OTM instance.
  • Can one OTM domain can handle multiple Orgs using one BPEL domain.
  • if first one is not true then do we have to setup different BPEL domains to handle multiple domains in OTM.
  • any other ideas.
Any help in this matter will be really appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Multi Org Concept in OTM while integrating with EBS OM 12.04

OTM uses domains (or sub-domains) to support multi-org functionality, plus they have a lot more flexibility than Orgs.

In the past, we've used a different OTM and BPEL domain for each EBS instance and/or Org in order to consolidate several of them (EBS instances and/or Orgs) into a single OTM instance. (Wow - say that 3 times fast!) If you're willing to customize the pre-packaged integration, then it may be possible to consolidate everything down into one OTM domain, but you'll also have to find a way to uniquely identify eacy order/shipment/voucher/etc, so that you can configure the BPEL flows to send the information back to each Org appropriately.

What's the need behind using a single OTM domain? It may be easier (and require much less coding/maintenance) to simply use multiple OTM domains.

Re: Multi Org Concept in OTM while integrating with EBS OM 12.04

Hi Chris,
OTM version 5.5 CU4 RU1 EBS version 12.04 BPEL version 10.1.3.3
Thanks for the reply; in a nutshell

1.It is recommended or advisable to use Different OTM and BPEL domain for each EBS instance or Inventory Org into single OTM instance.(requires less coding and maintenance)

2.If you use single OTM and BPEL domain (with single OTM instance) with multiple Inventory Org then you have to customize the pre-packaged integration.

I have a question on point 1 do you need to install a separate instance of BPEL or you can configure single instance of BPEL to support multiple BPEL domain.

I have a question on point 2 If I am planning to use Single BPEL/OTM domain and get everything into it from multi inventory org then getting the data is not a problem but sending back data to appropriate Inventory Org is not supported by pre-packaged integration.

Once again thanks for the valuable response and waiting for your feedback.

Here you go:
Quote:

I have a question on point 1 do you need to install a separate instance of BPEL or you can configure single instance of BPEL to support multiple BPEL domain.
You can do this all with a single instance of BPEL and multiple BPEL domains. We're already done this with a client.

Correct - I agree with your statement.
