WMS - Integration

Hi ,

we have a requirment where WMS data need to be integrated with OTM WMS .

Can you please suggest us to what extent can OTM handle it .

Or where do we place the data thats coming from WMS .

A simple scenario how do we create a Location as warehouse and how do we show that some cargo is put in that location .

Re: WMS - Integration

Kishore,
Are you using an integration package, if so which? We are integrating our 3rd party WMS with EBS and OTM and is proving challenging due to "replanning" of shipments down in the WMS system.

Are you integrating with Oracle EBS as well?

Re: WMS - Integration

Our integration goes thru EBS and into the WMS from there - not directly from OTM.

Re: WMS - Integration

Do any of you guys have any success of interfacing OTM with EBS OM and Oracle WMS, if yes can you please provide me a high level documentation or assumption to make it working, I have a good idea how it works between OTM and EBS OM without WMS,I spoke to Oracle consulting OTM and they are not able to provide any info so far. Any help in this matter will be really appreciated.

Re: WMS - Integration

As for OTM and WMS integration - it is supposed to be significantly improved in the next drop of the EBS/OTM integration, but unfortunately I don't have any information on when that may be released. However, the following information was presented in the CU04 RU01 release notes, which is related:

Quote:
OTM Integration with EBS WMS Appointments
A new Dock Door Synch program is available from EBS. This will create all locations that have dock doors along with generating the dock doors. This is a batch load of these locations into OTM.
Users will create dock door appointments in OTM. Upon creation/modification/removal of an appointment a shipment update is sent to EBS, the appointment details are available at the Shipment Stop level. Updates to these appointments only happen in OTM, changes to these appointment details will not be permitted in EBS. All modifications to the appointments are expected to take place in OTM and sent via the PlannedShipmentXML to EBS. This integration is available with version 12.1 of EBS WMS

OTM Integration with EBS APS
The EBS APS product manages the supply chain planning. OTM sends an updated Order Release to EBS APS anytime the Latest Estimated Delivery Date is populated or changes. EBS APS can then reflect the new arrival date and adjust the supply chain plan appropriately for Purchase Orders and Internal Sales Orders. The Latest Estimated Delivery Date field was added in 5.5 CU4 and stores the latest date of all of the shipments on which the Order Release resides. This integration is available with EBS APS 12.1.

Re: WMS - Integration

Hi Chris,

Thanks for info, As far EBS(WMS)/OTM is concern I was looking for Data flow diagram, like once you create the delivery then when to do pick release is it a parallel process or they have to wait for OTM to plan the shipment and then create a Trip in EBS then do the pick release .. etc.

Thanks
